Kanye West Writes Song About Kim Kardashian, Calls It 'Perfect Bitch'

How lucky is Kim Kardashian? Her loving boyfriend and Grammy Award-winner Kanye West has penned a song about her. Oh, and he's called it Perfect Bitch.

Hopefully reality TV star Kim will be thrilled that he's called her "perfect" and will possibly overlook the word "bitch" - after all, which self-respecting socialite wouldn't want a probably-chart-topping song written about them?

West revealed on Twitter that girlfriend Kim inspired the track, taken from his upcoming compilation album Cruel Summer.

A source told the New York Daily News: "(He raps) verses about his search for the perfect woman and how he has now found the “perfect bitch.’”

They added that there are a number of descriptions in the song that reflect the looks of Kardashian and his ex, Amber Rose.

It won't be the first time that Kanye has mentioned Kim in a song. In April, he released Theraflu, which includes the line: "I fell in love with Kim around the same time she fell in love with him."

'The X Factor' Start Date Confirmed: Series 9 Will Begin 18 August

The X Factor will return to TV for its ninth series on 18 August, it has been revealed.

Simon Cowell's money-making singing contest is scheduled to air between 8pm and 9.15pm, between a double bill of Ant & Dec's gameshow Red or Black.

The judging line-up has changed since last year - Kelly Rowland is out and Nicole Scherzinger is in. The former Pussycat Doll will join Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh on the search for Britain's next great singer (who will get a record contract but may not end up doing anything remarkable).

The auditions, which have already been filmed across the country, will show guest judges Spice Girls Geri Halliwell and Mel B, Anastacia, Rita Ora and Leona Lewis helping out.

Dermot O'Leary will once again guide contestants and viewers through the series, while Caroline Flack and Olly Murs will present ITV2 spinoff The Xtra Factor for a second year.

It has been reported that Barlow, who was recently made an OBE in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours List, will mentor the Over-25s group on this year's show.

The Sun claims he has been given the job of trying to create the first winner from the Overs category since Steve Brookstein won the first series in 2004.

And it was revealed at the weekend that show bosses are considering making the acts duet with legends such as Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson via 3D holograms for the final.

A promo video for the series was released recently showing One Direction, Leona Lewis, JLS and Little Mix singing the show's praises.

The former contestants on Cowell's talent show star in the new clip, documenting how it launched their careers. Of course, the less successful contestants from the show and those who have come out to condemn it, such as Steve Brookstein and Matt Cardle, are not featured in the video.

'ALF' Film Confirmed: Which Other Kids' TV Shows Deserve A Film?

Classic 1980s sitcom ALF is heading to the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It's hoped friendly furry alien ALF, who starred in 102 episodes of the show from 1986-90, will be voiced by actor Paul Fusco, the original puppeteer.

Unlike in the TV series, where ALF was portrayed by a puppet, the alien will be animated in the film - similar to the big screen adaptation of Garfield.

alf
Friendly ALF

The film will be produced by Jordan Kerner, the man who turned 1980s cartoon The Smurfs into a blockbuster franchise.

ALF creator Fusco previously told The Hollywood Reporter: “I think the timing is right. That’s a big important thing, timing.

“There have been movies out there of characters that I didn't think were on the same parallel as ALF that got movies made, so I think it's time. I think it could be a home run on a lot of levels."

In the UK the wave of nostalgia for childrens' TV shows has seen the BBC's The Magic Roundabout turned into a film in 2005, with stars such as Tom Baker, Joanna Lumley, Ian McKellen, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Bill Nighy and Jim Broadbent voicing roles.

And now much-loved Paddington Bear has packed his suitcase and headed to Hollywood, for his own big screen adaptation due for release in 2014.

Inspired by the classic children's stories by author Michael Bond, the film will be directed by The Mighty Boosh's Paul King and will feature a mixture of live action and CGI.

Harry Potter's David Heyman is on production duties, he recently told LoveFilm: "Paddington Bear is a universally loved character, treasured for his optimism, his sense of fair play, and his perfect manners – and, of course, for his unintentional talent for comic chaos."

Doctor Who's new assistant Jenna-Louise Coleman has been snapped in Victorian garb on the set of the BBC sci-fi show's Christmas special.

Guest star Tom Ward, best known for his role in Silent Witness, was also photographed during the filming taking place in Newport, Wales, along with Neve McIntosh who returns as a scary looking Madame Vastra the Silurian in the seventh series.

The episode is rumoured to be the one where the Doctor is introduced to his new companion and will also feature guest star Richard E. Grant - who played the Doctor once in a 2003 animated special Scream of the Shalka - as the new villain.

The BBC also announced on Thursday that a BBC TWO drama had been commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who next year.

An Adventure In Space And Time will tell the story of the genesis of Doctor Who since its first broadcast on 23 November 1963.

Written by Mark Gatiss, it is executive produced by current Doctor Who overseer, Steven Moffat, and Caroline Skinner.

Gatiss said: "This is the story of how an unlikely set of brilliant people created a true television original. And how an actor - William Hartnell - stereotyped in hard-man roles - became a hero to millions of children. I've wanted to tell this story for more years than I can remember! To make it happen for Doctor Who's 50th birthday is quite simply a dream come true."

Steven Moffat, executive producer, said: “The story of Doctor Who is the story of television - so it's fitting in the anniversary year that we make our most important journey back in time to see how the TARDIS was launched.”

The production and transmission schedule will be confirmed next year, along with casting.

'Invincible' Lemar: 'You're Always Going To Get Someone Who Says You're A Pr**k' (INTERVIEW)

"You're always going to get someone who says 'you're a prick', just ignore it, life is too short," says laid-back Lemar who's gearing up to mark his 10 years in the music industry with a sixth studio album.

The If She Knew singer, who has notched up seven top 10 singles and more than two million album sales in the past decade since first appearing on TV singing contest Fame Academy, notes how the music industry has changed since we first heard his smooth songs...

"I think it's changed enormously in a good way, everyone has got a public forum in Twitter, Facebook, where they can say 'this is what I like', or 'I don't like this'.

lemar
Lionel Richie with Lemar during Fame Academy in 2002

"Obviously it's very different in that people can cherry-pick what they want from albums and I think you need to put more effort in if you want to sell a body of work now, making sure the whole thing is good and not just a handful of songs."

Lemar, who has almost 60,000 followers on Twitter, makes it very clear that you won't find him complaining about the other side of the social networking coin - which is direct hateful messages from those people who aren't fans...

"Trolling? Nah I ain't got time for that. It takes a lot to get under my skin. I think if you pay those people attention then they will focus on you, but that stuff goes over my head."

lemar
Lemar with his award for Favourite Newcomer at the Capital FM Awards 2004 for Help a London Child

Lemar, who can now call himself an 'independent artist' after parting ways with former record label Sony, has been listening to his own advice and taking the time to make sure his sixth album, his first full-length featuring new material since his fourth album The Reason in 2008 (his fifth, in 2010, was a greatest hits package), is full of "good" songs.

From the six-track sampler we were given to preview, it seems Lemar has created more of his signature catchy-but-deep, motivational tracks and some that are full of soul, impossible not to toe-tap along to.

He explains why, despite each song typically only taking him a day to write and produce, the album took much longer.

"The album took a very long time just because I like to write a few songs before choosing the best ones. I wrote about 150/160 songs for this one, it took about a year and a half. Now I've got the best 10 or 11."

His first single from the album, which share the name Invincible, will be released on 12 August, and a supremely cute video for it - showing a childhood love and the pair's developing relationship up until the present day - can be viewed above.

What was the inspiration behind the song? "It's about keeping things together, when you are with someone and you think regardless of what comes your way you are invincible. That's the theme of the song and that's in keeping with the whole Olympic spirit too, everyone needs a theme. It's all about sticking together."

Is he sad that it didn't get chosen as the London Olympic 2012 theme tune?

"It's cool, a few people are catching on to it, Sky Sports are showing it a lot of love and used it to promote their stuff and the BBC have."

For fans of his previous records, Lemar promises there's no big departure: "It's more of the same but as best as it can be. I've really tried to capture the soul of what I've been doing before and tried to move it forwards.

"I guess there are a few more guitars on this album but it's thoughtful music, music that makes you think. A lot of the writing is quite layered. It's not very obvious on first listen what everything is about. I think they'll like it."

lemar
Lemar performs at BT London Live this week

Lemar has also been writing for other artists, and although he can't reveal who he says "hopefully that will all come to light soon".

There's no slowing down - he explains how he's "always open" to collobroations with anyone, noting: "The best come from the most random or different combinations."

Despite his reality TV singing contest days being far behind him, Lemar still believes they are a good "opportunity to live out their dreams" and is even eager to take up a judging seat himself.

"They need to holla at me man!," he says. And when I ask whether it would be The Voice or The X Factor that would call him, he jokes: "Show me where the money is."

"As the sun sets on the Olympics, darkness rises," warns the trailer to BBC1's new period drama, Ripper Street.

However, it should be taken less as a warning and more as something to look forward to once all the brilliant sporting activity is packed away again for four years.

The show – about the London police’s struggle to bring order to their beat after 19th century serial killer Jack the Ripper's reign of terror - stars Spooks actor Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn from Game Of Thrones and US actor Adam Rothenberg.

Team GB swimming sensation Rebecca Adlington has said she would "love to" compete in BBC reality show Strictly Come Dancing.

Adlington, who won two bronze medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games, would like to follow in the footsteps and sequins of fellow medallists Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson.

She told Absolute Radio's Johnny Vaughan live from Hyde Park at BT London Live: "It would be nice to be girly, like the make-up, the dresses and all that. It would be really nice."

However, when Vaughan suggested that her comments were a 'come and get me' plea, she replied: "Well I've got the bike ride to do so I wouldn't be able to do it this year anyway.

"They should do an Olympic Christmas special or something and get all of us to do it."

This week The Sun reported that Strictly bosses are trying to secure Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle for the show.

A Strictly source reportedly told the paper: “The bosses have made it clear their priority is to secure as many London 2012 competitors as possible."

Meanwhile, ITV bosses are also said to be in the market for snapping up some Olympic greats for 2012.

In a separate story The Sun suggests ITV are trying to sign up Bradley Wiggins and Adlington for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, after silver medallist javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread was such a hit last year.

His daughter, Madeline Stuart, said he died on Thursday night of cancer at his home in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

Although most famous in the UK for the 1971 musical fantasy Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder, Stuart was also an award-winning documentary maker who had made over 180 films.

He was nominated for an Oscar in 1965 for his documentary, Four Days in November, about the assassination of John F Kennedy and won an Emmy for The Making of the President 1960.

He decided to make Willy Wonka after his daughter Madeline asked him to make her a film about a book she loved - Roald Dahl children's classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

With Wilder as the chocolate factory magnate (and 11-year-old Madeline in a cameo role as a student in a classroom scene), it became an enduring family favourite still watched today.

Ennis is not the first member of Team GB to be approached for a TV slot since success at the games - swimming sensation Rebecca Adlington has been linked to BBC ballroom contest Strictly Come Dancing.

The Sun has also suggested ITV are trying to sign up Bradley Wiggins for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, after silver medallist javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread was such a hit last year.

And poster boy diver Tom Daley is apparently planning a foray into TV, considering work as a presenter once his Olympic commitments are finished.

Sunday night saw the London 2012 Olympic Games draw to a close with a huge concert, including performances from the Spice Girls, One Direction, Queen, The Who and Jessie J.

Team GB have celebrated their impressive medal haul - 29 golds, 16 silvers and 19 bronze, with a video message titled Don't Stop Us Now.

Superstar athletes Sir Chris Hoy, Ennis, Victoria Pendleton, Louis Smith and Pete Reed are just a few of the winning sportsmen and women featured in the version of the Queen hit, put on YouTube by Adidas - and David Beckham gets in on the action too.

Benedict Cumberbatch Makes A 'Downton Abbey' Dig?

Benedict Cumberbatch has swapped his role as a modern-day Sherlock Holmes for the part of a repressed civil servant, and seemingly made a dig at Downton Abbey in the process.

Speaking about his new role in the BBC’s forthcoming rival to ITV's hit period drama, Parade’s End, Cumberbatch told The Sun: "We’re not serving purposes to make some clichéd comment about, ‘Oh, isn’t it awful the way there’s this upstairs-downstairs divide?' It’s a little bit more sophisticated.”

benedict cumberbatch

Cumberbatch, who will star in the World War One BBC/HBO mini-series when it starts on BBC2 soon, has, however, been kinder to US Sherlock Jonny Lee Miller...

Miller, who is set to play an American Sherlock Holmes in CBS drama Elementary, recently revealed there's no rivalry between him and Cumberbatch.

He told reporters at Comic Con: "I wanted to assure him that it was a different enough project."

And he explained: "[Cumberbatch] was excited for me and he was very encouraging and we discussed it."

Although becoming somewhat the poster boy for 'sophisticated' dramas, Cumberbatch is not afraid to try comedy too, with recent reports that he had voiced a character in long-running hit US cartoon The Simpsons.

'The Vampire Diaries' Star Paul Wesley On Stefan's 'Bad Boy' Evolution, Vampire Fans And Film Star Ambitions

$

"I was really getting sick of him," says actor Paul Wesley about the character that made him a supernatural teenage hearthrob overnight.

You see, playing a kind-hearted vampire - the less edgy of two ridiculously good-looking brothers - was getting a bit dull for Wesley. "I was so happy to embrace not being the moral compass of the show," he explains, as we sit down for a chat about series 3 of hit US drama The Vampire Diaries.

"I find the most interesting characters to be flawed and I just wanted them [the producers] to make Stefan as flawed as possible. They certainly did that with me ripping people's heads off," he adds.

stefan

It wasn't just Wesley who wanted Stefan to take a darker path and stand up to his fierce brother Damon. Fans of the show, which has racked up two People's Choice Awards as well as many Teen Choice Awards, seemed to be yearning for it too.

"He instantaneously became more likeable, which I found ironic," Wesley agrees.

The main focus of the series, set in the fictional small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, is the love triangle between the gorgeous Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and the vampire-brothers Stefan Salvatore (Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), meaning the show has been compared to supernatural film franchise Twilight, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Wesley says he never saw himself "as a vampire in a million years" and admits he had reservations about The Vampire Diaries at first: "When I got the script I thought 'Oh no, this is going to be Twilight for TV.'"

vampire diaries
Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley star in The Vampire Diaries

But is there anything more than Stefan and Damon's powerful sex appeal to attract teens to the show?

"I certainly hope so, otherwise we are just boy toys," Wesley laughs.

"I think the teens gravitated it to it because there is a vampire craze, but teens aren't dumb and they watch it and are really moved by the characters."

With all the fame that comes with playing a heartthrob vampire, presumably also comes crazed teenage fans? Has he got it as bad as R-Patz?

"I don't know, I think he definitely gets a lot more of that than I do. But it depends what city I'm in, I definitely feel like it's not good for my ego to be in certain cities because the show is pretty popular.

"I thought Paris was pretty interesting. We couldn't leave our hotel because there were so many people outside, which was really flattering, but in certain places people couldn't give a crap."

stefan

Wesley, who changed his Polish last name from Wasilewski in 2005 to further his career, notes TVD is also popular in Poland.

"I went there a week ago visiting my family and it was nice because a lot of them knew I was of Polish origin and my real last name, so it wasn't just like 'oh you're the guy from the show,' I felt kinmanship," he says.

Having recently turned 30, Wesley has got his eye on making the transition into adulthood, he says, "if not in real life then at least on-screen." With three years left on his Vampire Diaries contract and little time to work on anything else in between, he admits this hasn't been easy, but adds: "I've got a movie coming out next year and I've got the chance to do one next year.

"What I'm trying to do is some adult-orientated, humanised sort of roles, rather than these supernatural-esque teen things."

stefan

But that doesn't mean Wesley wants to move away from TV and just focus on films, in fact, he explains just the type of show he likes and it's surprisingly British...

"It's very ignorant these days to say films are the be-all and end-all, television is so compelling. I was just watching a BBC show that you guys have, I thought it was so well shot, it's called Sherlock.

"I was just blown away. It looks better than 9/10 films that I see in the cinema... Of course I'd love to do film because in film you get to play all sorts of roles. Playing the same character for seven years is a big undertaking."

For now though, it's on to series 4 of The Vampire Diaries, Wesley's reluctant to give anything away and hints only that "Stefan has a new girl in his life".

Meanwhile, Damon is getting nicer: "We all want to be bad boys and he's getting a lot more empathetic. He's crying a lot lately, he's very sensitive."

Wesley wants to see Stefan "fall off the wagon" with new characters. It sounds like vampire fans won't be disappointed.

Paul Wesley stars in The Vampire Diaries: Season 3, available on Blu-ray™ with UltraViolet™ digital copy and DVD with UltraViolet™ digital copy from 20 August.

Idris Elba, somewhat the modern master of crime drama, has made a slight divergence from acting and lent his East London vocals to Essex soul band The Milk's latest music video.

The Milk reached out to Elba, who also makes his own music, shortly after they were signed, hoping that he'd deliver a rap/monologue for a track on their debut album.

And Elba, who made made his name as Stringer Bell in The Wire and Luther in the BBC's crime drama, was such a fan of the track that he agreed.

The video (above) captures their one-take live session in Dean Street Studios, London.

The recorded version appears on the band's forthcoming album, Tales From The Thames Delta, out 3 September, and sees Elba give a fiery performance.

At the end of the track Elba simply says: "Nice one boys, that was wicked," in his usual cool manner.

Meanwhile, Elba is reportedly starring as Nelson Mandela in a forthcoming biopic and will also appear in a third series of Luther, and a spin-off film to follow.

You will, however, spot Louis Walsh sneaking in a cheeky grin in some of the snaps. Don't say it's because he's just announced which year he'll be leaving the show?

One Direction have released a video of themselves singing an acoustic version of Oasis' hit song Wonderwall.

With Niall Horan strumming his guitar for the track (the role originally played by Noel Gallagher) and the boys all providing vocals, they've produced a romantic but less mature sounding cover of the Oasis classic... teenage hearts will implode everywhere.

The performance is thought to have taken place on the set of One Direction's video for What Makes You Beautiful.

One Direction are currently working on their second album, which has yet to be given a title.

It was released on Tuesday night, around the time Noel was on stage ribbing his brother Liam for singing the track at the London Olympics closing ceremony. Noel, who wrote the song, called his brother's band "Stratford's finest Oasis tribute".

'X Factor' Launch: Tulisa, Nicole Scherzinger And Louis Walsh Present A United Front Without Gary Barlow (PICTURES)

Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and new addtion to the UK X Factor judging panel Nicole Scherzinger put on a united front on Thursday to launch series 9 of Simon Cowell's singing contest.

The rabble that makes up the British showbiz press eagerly gathered at the screening and Q&A at London's majestic Corinthia Hotel, for a first look at Episode One of the X Factor 2012 and a sneak peek at the dynamic between the much-talked about judges.

Even Simon Cowell's ex and eighties pop star Sinitta turned out for the event - perhaps she'll be reporting back to Cowell?

x factor

They were of, course, one judge down, with Gary Barlow avoiding the press frenzy to stay close to his family as they continue to recover from the loss of their stillborn daughter the weekend before last.

It was also announced today that Barlow will not be heading abroad for the 'Judge's House' episodes of the new series.

Each judge was introduced onto stage (as if we didn't know who they were) and announced how pleased they were to be here.

Tulisa joked, "You can't take the girl out of Camden," as she attempted to climb down off the stage in her tight yellow bandage dress, instead of taking the more sophisticated stair option like Nicole.

But, despite being worlds apart in background, accents and taste, Tulisa and Nicoles seemed to get on famously. Air kisses were exchanged, along with a lot of praise for each other when the press were obviously angling for digs.

Meanwhile, Louis sat in between the two ladies lapping up the attention, secure in his top dog position, as it was pointed out - this is his ninth year on the show.

Tulisa had a special role at the launch. It was her job to unveil last year's X Factor winners Little Mix with their new single Wings.

Like a proud mother, the singer declared: "These are four of the loveliest people i've worked with, my little muffins," as the girls appeared on stage to perform an acoustic version of their track, primped and preened to within an inch of their lives... don't let that faded denim fool you.

little mix

For now, what the judges said and the details of episode one must stay under wraps, but check back here on Friday for all the stories from the day.

As for what you can expect from the show? Fans won't be disappointed, the X Factor has still got the shock factor, the comedy and the talent that keeps us coming back year after year.

"You are either going to love her or hate her, but we love her," said Tulisa at the launch about Spice Girl Mel B, who appears as a guest judge on the X Factor in episode one of the new series, to be shown on Saturday evening.

In scenes which will leave you wondering, "Is Mel B possibly the best X Factor judge ever?" the outspoken singer's opinions gave Simon Cowell's quips a run for their money as she terrified the hopefuls at the Manchester auditions.

Living up to her 'Scary' nickname, here are just a selection of the brutally honest quotes that came out of her mouth while she gave feedback to the acts:

  • "I've had more fun watching paint dry"

  • "You look like a popstar, but you don't sound like one"

  • "There was nothing right about that at all"

  • "I actually wanted to fall asleep"

  • "I found it irritating"

And if these don't sound that bad, wait until you see the context in which they're said, and you'll soon change your mind... think everyone else saying YES and some very sweet contestants.

Defending her feisty attitude, seasoned X Factor judge Louis Walsh said: "She's just saying what everyone is thinking at home, she's very honest."
