Johnny DeppDashing pirate Johnny Depp has become Hollywood's current highest-earning actor after securing a £21 million pay deal for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Depp is now earning alongside the big players such as Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson who each earn around £18 million a film.

Director Ridley Scott's adaptation of the legendary archer who steals from the rich to feed the poor is certainly looking impressive from the trailer and now this clip gives us a straight up look at some of the immense battle-beach action.

Sam MendesHe may not have an action film bone in his body but Sam Mendes has been given the chance to direct the next Bond film. And the film's production has been speeded up to start as early as June.

We were worried after the producers of the James Bond franchise announced they had put the next instalment on hold until the MGM studio sale is complete but now things seem right back on track.

Mendes directed American Beauty and Away We Go and although the closest he's come to an action film was the war film Jarhead, which didn't actually involve much war, he has been hailed as versatile enough to take on the legendary spy movie.

GainsbourgGainsbourg - in cinemas from today - is an artistic take on the life of musician, artist, writer and serial seducer, Serge Gainsbourg. Born as Lucien Ginsburg to Russian-Jewish parents in Paris in the 1920s, we see the young Gainsbourg shocked by an antisemitic poster, the cartoon face of which then haunts him for the rest of his life turning into his ugly alter-ego.

Tailed by the hallucinatory "ugly mug", the film takes us through Gainsbourg's highs and lows. His talent and charisma entrance beautiful women, including Juliette Gréco (Anna Mouglalis). Later in his career, Gainsbourg is to become the lover of no less than Brigitte Bardot (Laetitia Casta), with whom he originally intended to record hit song Je T'Aime.
