Find out more... Roland Emmerich It seems Roland Emmerich has a penchant for destroying the world. Not satisfied with obliterating mankind in Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and in this year's disaster epic 2012, Emmerich is now plotting new ways to end humanity. And it comes in the form of ID4-Ever, parts one and two.

Talking to MTV Emmerich announced he wants to make a pair of sequels to his hit 1996 film Independence Day.

The filmmaker explained: "The idea is just to continue the story and actually I don't know how many years ago this was - 12, 13, 14 years ago - and just continue where it ended."

Now don't get too excited, the films aren't even at the script stage yet, but both Will Smith and Bill Pullman should be acting in ID4-Ever if Independence Day is to pick up where it left off.

We aren't quite sure what Earth landmarks are left to destroy in such films but Emmerich has confirmed that there wont be any visits to alien homeland. He said: "it's always about the Earth, and the Earth gets invaded". A simple concept, which Emmerich is keen on using, time and time again.
