Well, seemingly picking up on this notion are some ex-TV-talent-show-contestants who are now attempting to make films about their fascinating 'journeys'.
And who could be more fascinating than ex-stripper and X Factor runner up Chico! The Butlins entertainer who had a number one hit with It's Chico Time in 2006 has co-written a film with a man who Wikipedia claims is his lodger.
The movie, called Lunchbox, is a "raunchy comedy about a stripping troupe on tour in England". It's set to rival the Full Monty and will be made next year.
Meanwhile, Scottish singing sensation and Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle has her brother championing a film about her life. Apparently, brother Boyle would like to see Susan Boyle: The Motion Picture and has decided he'd like Kathy Bates to play SuBo.
But beating both of these films to the Box Office comes next year's StreetDance: The Movie 3D, a teenage dance film along the lines of Step Up 2 the Streets set to star non-other than Britain's Got Talent acts George Sampson, Diversity and Flawless.
We reckon if these reality TV spin-off films succeed it won't be long before Jedward: The Movie appears and perhaps even X Factor: The Movie? There's certainly been enough drama to fill a feature length film and it's no secret how keen Simon Cowell is to cash in on the show.
By the way, all you need on this year's X Factor is over here.
