Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' has not received any nominations in the main categories for this year's BAFTA Awards.
The film, which stars British actors Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellen as wizard Gandalf, picked up nominations in Make up and Hair, Visual Effects and Sound, but was snubbed in Best Film, Director and any of the actor categories.
Film fans on Twitter were also dissapointed that Ben Wheatley's violent northern road film 'Sightseers' - widely considered to be one of the best British films of the year - failed to gain any recognition from BAFTA.
